Product Description

In order to enhance the design ground acceleration coefficient in Taiwan, the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC) has amended the railway bridge design specifications in April 2000 after the 1999 921 earthquake. Since most of the civil works of Taiwan High Speed Rail project were nearing completion during that period, the MOTC agreed that the high speed rail project may adopt the original design specification to minimize the impact on the HSR project. However, THSRC shall carry out the Seismic Capacity and Performance Evaluation (SCPE) after design and construction is completed. T.Y. Lin has then designated to perform such evaluation in accordance with the seismic coefficient and SCPE revised specification to determine the adequacy of the structure under Type I earthquake conditions. The assessed bridges include Lot 220, Lot 280, Lot 291, Lot 296.
