Taiwan's yacht manufacturing industry takes over the world's No. 5 spot and with it the reputation of the "yacht kingdom". Taiwan's yacht manafacturing industry is mainly located in the Kaohsiung area and the production value has approximately 70% of Taiwan exporting industry. In order to provide more jobs for the southern region, the Kaohsiung City Government plans to develop south of reclaimed land as the "Southstar Luxury Yacht manufacture center". It will alse connect with the Kaohsiung harbor to adopt its maritime superiority and upgrade the services of import and export customs clearance.
