Both Starlight and Crescent bridges are recreational and sightseeing bridges intended to blend with the nighttime as light sculptures and become landmarks in the neighborhood. It may not only attract tourists but also prosperous local business. They are part of the “Tamsui Manhattan project”of New Taipei City. They serve as a path for both pedestrian and bicycle riders crossing the Danhan creek and Keelung River. The heights of the Crescent Bridge double asymmetric steel arches (200m+100m=300m) are 50m and 25m respectively.
The bridge has 4 viewing platforms which create a high quality recreation space. Furthermore, the transparent deck of the skywalk allows tourists to feel the breeze of water. The Starlight bridge structure boasts a distinctive profile dominated by an uneven single span (125m). It also features a 75 m dual core steel truss slanting pylon which combines with the flashy nighttime lights to accentuate the star-like shape of bridge.
